My Approach to Therapy
I believe successful therapy starts with the alliance between the client and therapist. From the start of therapy, I focus on providing a comfortable space to nurture the healing journey. I use a trauma-informed style, as I believe safety, trust, and collaboration are part of the foundation to therapy. Additionally, I believe everyone’s experiences need to be honored, recognized, and processed in order to heal. I value the uniqueness of each client and believe there is not a one-size-fits-all approach. Instead, I focus on collaborating with my clients to determine the best course of treatment to meet their needs and goals. I utilize EMDR, mindfulness, and cognitive behavioral therapy to help with processing and skill-building.
My approach is compassionate, though I can also be direct and provide observations and feedback to my clients to assist with building self-awareness and independence. I value guiding my clients to discovering the root of their concerns and building the skills necessary to continue healing outside of the therapy session. .

B.A., English, 2015 -
I earned my bachelor’s degree from San Francisco State University in 2015. After graduating, I gained experience working with sexual assault survivors and adults seeking inpatient and outpatient substance abuse treatment. I then pursed my master’s degree in social work at California State University Monterey Bay. While in graduate school, I took courses focused on trauma-informed care, social justice, and clinical development. My internships focused on assisting the perinatal population and college students.
Since graduating with my masters, I have had a variety of experiences working with children, teenagers, and adults. I also pursued advanced training for perinatal mental health, where I realized my passion for working with those who are pregnant, postpartum, or have experienced loss or termination. I am also dedicated to working with parents who have experienced high-risk and IUGR pregnancies. Item description
