Parents and Families

When a child is born, a parent is born right alongside it. And yet, no matter how much you’ve read, how much you’ve planned; no matter your pathway to having children, it’s hard to anticipate the psychological impact of becoming a parent. We view this transition through a neurobiological, identity, and developmental perspective, and love supporting new (and seasoned) parents through their parenting journey. We work with parents and families of all types, including single parents, GLBTQ+ parents, adoptive parents, and divorced parents. Common issues addressed in therapy are parental identity, family of origin concerns and “reparenting,”  parenting approaches and styles, and striving for elusive “balance” of work and family.
