Experience & Training
I earned my undergraduate degree at the University of Miami and the University of New Orleans, followed by a Master’s degree in Gender Studies and History from San Francisco State University. In addition, I have a Master's degree from the Catholic University of America in Clinical and Macro Social work. I am the recipient of Tulane University’s Amistad Research Institute’s Summer Research Fellowship, where I conducted original research on the roles of women and their psychological stress during socio-political movements. I completed both my practicums in academic social work settings, receiving extensive training in IEP and 504 accommodations and disability advocacy, and worked for several years in a community mental health organization providing therapy for children, teens, adults, couples, and families
I’ve received advanced postgraduate training in perinatal/perimenopausal mood and anxiety disorders, couples therapy, and trauma therapy. I am certified in ADHD assessment and treatment and Complex Trauma Treatment.
Therapeutic Approach
My therapeutic style is eclectic, integrative, and highly personalized. I love to draw on my own neurodivergence, and my creative background as a published author (under the pen name Harper Kincaid) and working artist in my work with clients. Having navigated challenges myself, I understand the journey firsthand. I am here to help you feel safe, share your concerns, and discover genuine fulfillment. I utilize a trauma-informed, anti-ableist, and affirming stance in my work with individuals and couples.
Focus Areas and Expertise
I am passionate about supporting women and their partners as they steer through life's stages. I specialize in perinatal and perimenopausal mental health, offering individual and couples therapy. I have particular expertise in working with neurodivergent clients, and a special interest in working with late-diagnosed, neurodivergent female-identifying clients. I provide ADHD assessment and treatment, executive functioning coaching, and supportive psychotherapy.
I am also well-versed in working with LGBTQ+ people and their families toward understanding and healing, including counseling couples with a partner undergoing gender transition.
